Management & Development in the Arts
DB Consult is a company for management, development, research and consultancy in the Arts. DB Consult was founded by Jeanneke den Boer in 2003. She has extensive management experience in the arts, for instance as director of Rasa Centre for World Cultures. She graduated in anthropology (1984) and law (1995) at Utrecht University. The expertise of DB Consult is in the development and execution of intercultural and worldmusic programmes and international cultural exchange projects. DB Consult organises and gives lectures on world music and art policy and also offers training programmes in intercultural management and international cooperation in the arts.

PROJECTS
Culturele Karavaan
DB Consult is managing the Culturele Karavaan, an intercultural programme which is offering religiously inspired music, dance, stories and poetry. The programme was initiated by the Culture Connection Foundation as part of the Religious Heritage Year 2008 (see Religious Heritage, www.2008re.nl).
Wereldfeest Utrecht
DB Consult is responsible for the programme of the Wereldfeest, an annual intercultural Arts festival in Utrecht. It takes place at the end of June and attracts around 25,000 visitors on average. Het Wereldfeest presents music, dance, theatre, literature, and visual arts by up-and-coming talents and world- famous stars, www.wereldfeestutrecht.nl
Focus Morocco
DB Consult was responsible for the project management of Focus Morocco, a multi-annual Dutch-Moroccan cooperation of the Rotterdam Museum of World Arts in the field of cultural heritage. The project consists of two touring exhibitions, an extensive educational programme, a highly instructive website, events and meetings. Focus Morocco paints a vivid picture of the rich cultural inheritance of Morocco and the way it has inspired artists, designers and musicians worldwide. Morocco – Netherlands 2005: Art en Tour Pays-Bas Morocco and Morocco Express
The cultural exchange programme Art en Tour Pays-Bas Maroc offered artistic encounters, concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, workshops, literary events and lectures. The programme activities took place in Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat and generated new exchange projects between Dutch and Moroccan artists and cultural institutions. The programme was supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In 2005 DB Consult took care of the artistic programme of the festival Morocco Express in Utrecht, www.culturelezondagen.nl.
World Music
Over the years, DB Consult has frequently lectured on world music at the concert hall de Doelen in Rotterdam. These lectures vividly portrayed the Portugese fado, Cape Verdean morna, Brasilian samba and bossa nova, Greek rembetika, Spanish flamenco, Greek rembetika, klezmer, Sufi music, Gaelic music, and music from the Balkans, Morocco, Turkey, India and Iran, www.dedoelen.nl.
Policy research and consultancy
DB Consult frequenlty advises government institutions on matters of cultural policy, among them Utrecht province and the municipalities of Utrecht, Lopik and Vianen.
